EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Registered as a professional engineer in Canada
EXPERIENCE:
Recent* and significant** experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, such as community buildings, water and wastewater systems, roads and bridges, solid waste management, etc.
Significant** experience in the technical evaluation of architectural or engineering reports;
Experience in providing technical and strategic advice to management;
Experience providing professional engineering and technical advice to clients.
NOTE: *Recent experience is defined as experience within the last four (4) years. ** Significant meaning normally acquired with more than eight (8) years experience after graduation.

ASSET EDUCATION:
Graduation with a Master's degree relevant to the duties of the position or post graduate certificate in construction management or project management.
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
Experience in carrying out engineering projects including project scope, budget, preparation of bid specifications, and procurement;
Experience in evaluating realty asset management strategies, plans and initiatives throughout the life-cycle of Civil related infrastructure.
Experience working with First Nations leadership and/or communities;
Experience working with Indigenous Services Canada or Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada

Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

LEAVE/ABSENCES DURING THIS SELECTION PROCESS: It is the responsibility of the candidate to notify the Departmental contact of any pre-approved leave throughout the duration of the process in order to facilitate scheduling of evaluations. One (1) alternate date will be possible only if requested for the following reasons: 1) Medical reasons with doctor’s certificate 2) Death in your immediate family 3) Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans or training plans (made before the advertisement posting date) 4) Religious reasons or 5) Participation in an assessment for another selection process.
Please note that achieving the pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process.
