Intent of the process

The intent of the selection process is to staff one (2) indeterminate Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB positions with a Top Secret security clearance. The positions are located in Ottawa (ON).

This selection process could also be used to staff similar positions of varying tenures, of varying bilingual imperative linguistic profiles within the National Division, RCMP.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

Significant* experience implementing and maintaining modern radio/ data communications system equipment
Significant* experience working with modern electronic test equipment used in the land mobile radio field
Significant* experience in programming, modifying and maintaining modern mobile radio and/ or data communications systems and equipment

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired by performing the functions regularly for a minimum period of approximately two (2) years

Conditions of employment

Willingness and ability for occasional travel as required, sometimes on short notice including overnight
Willingness and ability to work in areas exposed to inclement weather and occasional uncomfortable working locations
Willingness and ability to work overtime to support operational activities and/ or systems, sometimes on short notice
Willingness and ability to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment (ex: minimum 50lbs)
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
RCMP Top Secret level security clearance
