Work environment

The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) contributes to public safety with its core responsibility for the controlled, timed and gradual release of offenders back into society. Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on a temporary basis for a period of one year with possibility of extension. A pool of candidates may be created to staff similar CR-04 positions with various employment tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period appointment, acting, assignment or secondment) within the Parole Board of Canada’s Pacific Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

- Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.

Note: The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in providing administrative support services related to the following:
• Maintaining electronic files;
• Client service; and
• Processing incoming/outgoing mail

- Experience using Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook)

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

- Experience working in the criminal justice system in the public sector

- Experience organizing and/or facilitating meetings with online video platforms such as Webex, Teams or Zoom
