Duties

Data Analyst (EC-02)

As a member of Synergy in Action (SIA)’s Business Analytics and Data Science team, you’ll be integral to the implementation of analytics driven projects that may have sweeping and immediate impacts on frontline operations and systematic service delivery issues faced by the Government in this new digital world. If you’re passionate about combining your experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data mining, and/or data science with great people skills and a knack for seeing the “bigger picture”, you may be a perfect fit for this arm of SIA.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting SIA’s many internal partners and program clients by building reporting products in PowerBI, fulfilling ad-hoc data requests, contributing to the development and quality assurance of the larger enterprise reporting environment, contributing to the development of key performance indicators, resolving technical and non-technical issues and working in a larger project team to deliver a data driven suite of operational solutions aligned to frontline realities. In addition, you will creatively find new data sources which complement operational stores, develop your own data models aligned with the clients strategic goals, work with data engineers to automate your logic into our enterprise environment, all the while synergizing with your project team to ensure they collectively have the information needed to ensure continuous stakeholder buy-in. As an entry-level position in the team, you will be part of larger projects led by Senior and Intermediate team members and provided plenty of opportunities to forge your own solutions to problems, while being guided and supported by various members of SIA.

SIA currently uses an on premise Microsoft stack of analytical services, including, but not limited to Microsoft Analyses Services, Microsoft Management Studio, Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Teams. Members of the Business Analytics arm may also be versed in and provided R, Python, or programs that use DAX and/or T-SQL.
