Throughout the process, you will be required to provide requested information promptly and make yourself available for assessment:
• You will not be solicited for incomplete or missing information;
• You must reply to correspondence within prescribed deadlines;

• As this is an external advertised process, informal discussions will not take place or be provided.
Assessments may be conducted in any order and at any phase of the process:
• A variety of evaluation tools, methods and assessment timelines may be used throughout the process, including, but not limited to, standardized tests (ex: EPSI), exams, interviews, reviews of past performance and accomplishments, etc.:
• Your first official language (English or French - the official language in which you are generally more proficient) will be assessed.
We may also request the following information in any order, at any phase of the process:
• Security clearance Information, if applicable;
• Proof of education, including Canadian equivalency;
• Second Language Evaluation (SLE) results, if applicable.
All of the information collected during the selection process, including behaviour and communication, from the time of application until the end of the process, may be used to evaluate candidates.
Foreign Education Credentials: Candidates with foreign education credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. If you have been educated outside of Canada, it is your responsibility to have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian educational standards. Candidates must be prepared to submit electronic proof of a Canadian equivalent education at the time of application. The intent of this selection process is to appoint candidates who are successful in the pool when vacancies arise within various work units throughout Infrastructure Canada.
Additionally, a pool of qualified candidates will be established to potentially staff similar positions with various: tenures, language requirements, bilingual linguistic profiles and/or security requirements, within all federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V.
Once Infrastructure Canada has concluded their initial appointments, the pool may be shared with other government departments.
Indeterminate employees at the same group and level, or equivalent, may be considered first for deployment.
Qualified candidates who self-declare as members of Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities and/or women may be selected for appointment first to fulfill organizational needs. In addition, this organizational need may be invoked at any stage of the selection process.

► EDUCATION ◄
• A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
NOTE:
1. Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor's degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.
2. At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.
► EXPERIENCE ◄
• Experience in communications or journalism in a government, not for profit or private sector environment.
• Experience in developing communication products, such as, but not limited to: news releases, backgrounders, questions and answers, key messages, media lines, social media and/or digital content (including graphics and video).
• Experience in supporting complex files that require consulting, negotiating and collaborating with clients.
• Experience in developing communications plans or strategies to support programs, services or organizational objectives.
• Experience in providing communications advice and support to senior management or government officials and clients (internal or external) on complex files.
► ASSET EXPERIENCE ◄
• Experience in planning and implementing communications events and announcements.
• Experience in overseeing large, multi-stage projects.
