Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Ottawa, Ontario. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from the Ottawa, Ontario office.

OSFI supervises and regulates federally registered banks and insurers, trust and loan companies, as well as private pension plans subject to federal oversight.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial and/or territorial standards

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Significant* experience in coordinating and providing administrative support services to directors or managers, particularly in managing an email inbox, organizing meetings, drafting meeting agendas, and records of decision;
- Experience in drafting administrative correspondence such as letters, memos, procedures, etc.;
- Experience in executing financial activities for a division such as monitoring expenditures and budget tracking;
- Experience using tracking systems such as for budget, correspondence, data or documents;
- Experience coordinating multiple projects or activities;
- Experience using each of the following Microsoft Office Suite applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of the duties which would normally be acquired over a period of at least two (2) years.

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from LRT and STO stops.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
