The MSc student will participate in the planning of experiments to answer research hypothesis. Under the supervision of Drs. Raju Soolanayakanahally and Elaina Gonzales-Vigil, s/he will be responsible for executing the study including a wide variety of activities (growing wheat plants in greenhouse, collecting leaf tissue sampling for wax profiling and associating the results with growth physiology) along with writing scientific manuscripts. The student will present the findings at a national conference/meeting.
The work involves greenhouse experiments and labs work at the University of Toronto, Scarborough. All student thesis meetings will take virtual via zoom/MS Teams.

The Student must be currently enrolled or will be enrolled by date of appointment in a Master’s Program at the University of Toronto, Scarborough with a specialization: Plant Sciences, Environment and Natural Resources or a related field AND possess a Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized university in the area of plant science, biology, natural sciences.
Experience growing wheat plants either in greenhouse or outdoors.
