The immediate need is to staff one position in Sarnia on a full-time basis.
A pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates may be established within Transport Canada and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures and/or various linguistic requirements and/or various security profiles.

A Secondary School Diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience in providing administrative support in an office environment.
Experience in the processing of financial documents (such as: processing and auditing travel claims, coding of invoices, etc).
Experience in providing client service delivery in person and by telephone and electronically.
Experience in preparing and editing routine correspondence.
Experience in the administration and maintenance of information in an electronic processing system.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Applications including all of the following: Outlook, Word and Excel.
Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma.
Experience in preparing presentations.
Experience in contracting and procurement.
Experience in Fleet Management.
Experience in booking/coordinating travel arrangements.
Experience in performing research and analysis in relation to Government of Canada financial policies and directives.
Experience in preparing spreadsheets and analyzing data.
Experience preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports.
Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.

In assessing candidates, assessment boards may use a variety of tools and methods including, but not limited to, reviews of past performance and accomplishments, written tests, interviews, PSC tests and reference checks. In addition, all information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates.
As part of this selection process you must provide proof of your education credentials. You will be advised to provide the documents later in the process. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. This will enable you to provide proof of Canadian equivalency when applying for a job in the public service.
