The Department of National Defence (DND) is the largest federal government employer, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. This process is to create an anticipatory pool for many seasonal indeterminate positions for the upcoming Winter 2021/2022. However, there is a possibility of a short employment to close the Winter 2020-2021 period.
The seasonal period usually start from end of October until mid-April, the period may vary every year depending the weather.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
OC1 - Valid Class 1E driver’s license issued by the Province of New Brunswick or the equivalent in another province.
OC2 - Provincial Air Brake certification.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the operation of a dump truck.
• Experience in the operation of a front-end loader.
• Experience in the operation of a grader.
• Experience in snow and ice removal equipment.

ABILITY:
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to perform inspection and maintenance on vehicle to include replacement of cutting edges, cleaning equipment, movement of parts and other physically demanding periodic work.
Must undergo Practical Equipment testing.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Must maintain a valid Class 1E driver’s license issued by the Province of New Brunswick or the equivalent in another province.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a DND 404 to include Air Brake Endorsement.
• Must provide a valid driver’s medical.
• Must provide a driver’s abstract.
• Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work shift work as required.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be able to work on callbacks.
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
