Intent of the process

The immediate intention of this process is to staff one (1) position for a specified period.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions at Elections Canada with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period, acting).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in English literature, linguistics or translation or other specialty relevant to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent* and significant** experience in English-language editing of general or specialized texts (including those of an administrative, financial or legal nature) for various audiences.

Recent* and significant** experience in French-to-English comparative editing of general or specialized texts (including those of an administrative, financial or legal nature) for various audiences.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the past five years.
**Significant experience is defined as the breadth, depth and complexity of responsibilities normally associated with having performed these duties on a regular basis over a period of three years within the last five years.

ABILITIES
Ability to edit general or specialized texts (including those of an administrative, financial or legal nature) in English for various audiences.
