This is an anticipatory process to staff several ENG-03 positions.

A pool of qualified candidates may also be established through this process to staff similar ENG-03 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)), various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, energy engineering, oil & gas engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience in conducting analysis and developing report(s) and presentation(s) in an energy related field.

Experience analyzing technical issues and data and providing technical and/or policy advice to senior management on energy science and technology (S&T).

Experience in carrying out the technical review of project proposals or preparation of technical proposals and reports, for example, for federal government energy innovation programs related to oil and gas extraction and processing (oil sands, conventional and offshore) and/or oil spill response, CCUS and/or air emissions technologies and/or environmental management related to water and tailings.

Experience in conducting engineering and research projects, including project scheduling, project costing, preparing bid specifications and procurement.

Experience in analysis of developments, trends and emerging key technologies in at least one of the areas of oil and gas extraction and processing (oil sands, conventional and offshore) and/or oil spill response, CCUS and/or air emissions technologies and/or environmental management related to water and/or tailings.

Experience in conducting R&D projects in any of the areas related to oil and/or gas extraction and processing (oil sands, conventional and offshore), oil spill response, CCUS, air emissions technologies and/or environmental management related to water and/or tailings.

Experience in the negotiation and management of contribution agreements, transfer payment agreements and/or amendments for projects that focus on innovative energy technologies or solutions.

Experience participating in consultations and collaborative activities with stakeholders related to innovative energy technologies in oil and gas processing
