When submitting your application to this selection process, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the education and experiences requirements listed in the essential qualifications and asset qualifications section. It is your responsibility to provide clear and concrete examples in your responses to each question. It is recommended that you describe the experience examples in specific terms, providing sufficient details so that the Assessment Board can clearly understand. Describe the situation/task, how, when and where you acquired these experiences by giving examples. Content of your response must be supported by your CV/resume as your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your CV/resume will only be used to validate this information. - The intent of this selection process is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, acting, secondment or assignment);
- A pool of qualified candidates will be established to fill similar positions within the Canadian Space Agency.

EDUCATION:
- A baccalaureate degree from a recognized post secondary institution in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position such as, but not limited to: Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems.
or
- Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.
* A "recognized university" is a Canadian university that has provincial or territorial degree-granting status, or a university outside of Canada, the programs/degrees of which are accepted by a recognized Canadian university. To determine if an institution is registered and recognized, visit the Ministry of Education website for the province in question to obtain a list of registered institutes. EXPERIENCES:
- Experience in evaluating, analyzing and solving engineering problems and in making recommendations.
- Experience in the application of engineering techniques, practices, processes and/or procedures.
* Experience is defined as performing relevant activities for a minimum period of 2 years in the last 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY:
- Knowledge of theories and practices of at least two of the following: development, verification, validation and operation of aerospace (or similar field) hardware and/or software;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally;
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing;
- Ability to work effectively in a time-critical environment;
- Ability to evaluate proposals and to provide recommendations.

- A post-graduate degree from a recognized university in an applicable engineering or science discipline.

ASSET QUALIDICATIONS - EXPERIENCES:
- Experience with relevant operations software.
- Experience in robotics.
- Experience in using real time simulation applications/systems.
- Experience in the development, integration, certification, and/or operation of scientific payloads and/or research instruments for utilization in space.
- Experience in planning and monitoring the work items of an engineering project or program.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing and able to travel in Canada and abroad;
- Willing and able to work irregular hours and/or overtime upon request (for certain positions);
- Willing and able to be on call 24 hours/7 days per week (for certain positions).
CONDITIONS OF EMPOYMENT:
SECURITY/RELIABILITY: Various security requirements depending on the position to be filled.
Secret Security Clearance. Those selected must meet this condition on appointment and maintain this clearance level throughout their tenure in the position.
