Duties

The Support Clerk provides support to the day-to-day operations of the Regional Operational Center for Old Age Security (ROC-OAS) in Québec or an Employment Insurance processing center.

The Records Management area, where all support clerks work, is responsible for managing thousands of paper/electronic forms and documents weekly. Several teams are in place to handle shipping, receiving, archiving, scanning, and to perform computer data entry. A support clerk may be required to work in multiple teams. They may work either seated in front of a computer or in various positions in work areas (standing, sitting, squatting or sitting on a small bench).

Work environment

Located in the heart of the Lebourgneuf district, the Regional Operational Center for Old Age Security (ROC-OAS) is close to the Galeries de la Capitale and its restaurants. The location is easily accessible by public transport or by bicycle through the cycle paths. The center also offers a bright work environment and has a dynamic social club.

The Boucherville Processing Center is located in a neighbourhood composed of commercial, residential and green areas, near an artificial lake. It is close to all services (restaurants, financial institutions, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc.). The location is easily accessible by car via highways 20 and 132, by public transit by various bus lines or by bicycle as it is near bicycle paths. The Center features a large free parking area, which includes outdoor bike racks.

The Laval Processing Center offers many services within walking distance (grocery stores, library, shopping center, restaurants). The center has a dynamic social club and provides you with a large bright cafeteria, bike racks and showers. The location offers quick access to highways 13, 15 and 440 and has free parking.

The Saguenay Processing Center is located in the Gilles-Marceau building, one of the largest federal buildings in Eastern Quebec, with more than 700 employees! The environment is constantly monitored to ensure the well-being of its occupants. The Center offers spacious rest areas and a cafeteria and is located on a large lot with green spaces, a large terrace for lunch and free parking. The location is easily accessible by car from anywhere in the region due to its proximity to Highway 70 or by bicycle via the bike path (bike racks and showers are available). A daycare center (CPE) is located directly in front.

The Thetford Mines Processing Center is located 1 hour from Quebec City and the Beauce region, is in a dynamic city where traffic problems do not exist! A "family" atmosphere is present at this Center. The location of the office makes it possible to get to several different restaurants for dinner in 5 minutes. Parking is free and offers direct access to the office.

Intent of the process

To create a pool of qualified candidates to staff at least 20 positions in Québec city during the 2020-2021 winter. The assessment of the candidates will start in December 2020. Depending on the organization’s needs, other hiring may be done from this pool.

This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various locations within Service Canada, including positions in Thetford Mines, Boucherville, Laval and Saguenay.
