Intent of the process

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Physical Studies, Kinesiology, or related Health Field

Degree equivalency

Current Canadian Society for Exercise Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) or equivalent OR in the process of obtaining the certification.

Recent experience* in developing, implementing and evaluating fitness and lifestyle programs
*Recent experience means performance of duties within approximately the last 3-5 years

Experience using various fitness software programs and virtual platforms such as HR monitors, HexFit, MS TEAMS

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience in coordinating and preparing individuals for Occupational Fitness Evaluations

Experience in the administration of maximal occupational testing such as PARE, POPAT or PREP

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship prior to appointment. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates.

You may be assessed using one or more of the following tools: standardized tests, written exams, interview, simulation exercise, reference check, and other assessment tools.
