LOCATION: Due to Covid-19 pandemic and until further notice, our teams currently work virtually from home using the latest technologies to stay connected.
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates in order to staff positions within the Canadian Space Agency branches with various language requirements, tenures, and security requirements.

EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in communications or a field relevant to the duties of the position to be staffed such as but not limited to journalism, public relations or marketing.
Notes :
1) Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor's degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.
2) At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Recent experience* writing at least two different types of communications products such as : news releases, media lines, key messages, backgrounders, feature articles, video scripts and/or storyboards, , social media content, Web and/or Intranet pages, speeches, presentations, newsletters, etc.
- Recent experience* contributing to or implementing communication plans or projects. These can include marketing strategies, social media plans, web publishing plans etc.
*Recent experience is defined as at least one year of experience within the past three years. The experience must have been acquired in a professional context.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Available to work overtime, as required, on short notice.

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of current trends in communications tools and technology.
ABILITIES:
Ability to write effectively, to communicate complex information in a manner that is clear, concise and appropriate for specific audiences.
Ability to communicate orally in a clear and precise manner.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities, often within very tight deadlines.
Ability to develop a communications plan.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Depending on the requirements of the position to be staffed, it is possible that an "asset" qualification may be required as an essential qualification.
Experience in a communications department within the Federal Public Service.
Experience in science communications for the general public.
Experience in direct interaction with the media, in particular in coordinating interviews with the media and providing information to journalists.
Experience in representing your organization at events including engaging with the public.
Experience organizing events.
Experience in employee/internal communications.
Experience writing or editing communications for an organization’s or a community’s social media account.
Note: All experience must have been acquired in a professional context.
