The purpose of this process is to staff current and future vacant positions within the National Hydrological Services in Gatineau, Quebec.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and can be of use to the staffing of the similar positions with various location, language requirements and security requirements within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

EDUCATION:
ED1: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program with an acceptable specialization relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience in operating and troubleshooting hydrometric stations.
EX2: Experience in the analysis of hydrometric data.
EX3: Experience in writing technical reports.

Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
K1: Knowledge of Water Survey of Canada standard operating procedures.
K2: Knowledge of technologies typically used at hydrometric stations.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
AED1: Successful completion of the Hydrometric Technician Apprenticeship and Professional Training Program (HT-APTP).
EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience in the use of AQUARIUS software.
AEX2: Experience in the use of desktop publishing software (e.g., Microsoft Word).
AEX3: Experience in the use of content collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence).
KNOWLEDGE:
AK1: Knowledge of the principles of hydrology.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
OR1: This position requires to travel on an occasional basis for field work or to participate in meetings, workshops or conferences. The travels are especially in Canada and sometimes abroad (international conferences).
OR2: This position also requires to occasionally undertake work in and around water, wading, working on cableways and bridges or on ice.
OR3: Valid driver’s license.
