Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff two indeterminate positions in Suffield (Alberta).

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar or identical positions for various employment tenure (indeterminate or term) or linguistic profiles within the Department of National Defense in Suffield (Alberta).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education
• A secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, experience and / or training.

Degree equivalency

Experience
• Recent experience operating large vehicles with trailers
• Recent experience safely operating larch hydraulic operated equipment such as a front-end loader and a backhoe.
• Recent experience with safe crane or Hi-Ab operation, hoisting and rigging
*Recent experience is defined as having obtained within the last three years.

• Ability to effectively in writing

Operational Requirements
• May occasionally be required to work overtime or weekends.
• Incumbent shall wear all employer supplied and employee supplied personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Willing and able to at semi-remote sites without supervision
• Willing and able to maintain appropriate driving records and to provide an acceptable driver’s abstract before the date of appointment.
• Willing and able to perform long haul tractor trailer assignments

Conditions of employment

Conditions of Employment
• Reliability or Secret security clearance depending on requirements of the position to be filled
• Possession of a provincially issued Class 1 drivers’ license
• Be able to obtain and retain a DND 404 drivers license
• Willing and able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
