In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Possession of a valid red-seal inter-provincial journeyperson’s certification as a Plumber

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of a variety of Plumbing systems
- Experience in estimating material and equipment requirements related to Plumbing tasks;
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Trade Practices and Procedures such as using the National plumbing Code;
- Knowledge of Safety practices related to the installation and maintenance of a variety of Plumbing systems;

ABILITIES/ SKILLS
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Ability to organise and expedite work;
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools and machinery related to Plumbing tasks;
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints in order to provide supervisor with time and material estimates

ASSET Qualifications

A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, or organizational needs. Experience
- Experience with Plumbing maintenance work in an institutional environment;
- Experience installing, testing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems;
- Experience Gas fitting;
- Experience installing, testing and maintaining kitchen equipment;
- Experience in ductwork fabrication and installation; and
- Back-flow prevention certification.

Organizational needs
In support of Strong, Secure, Engaged (SSE) initiative #24, consideration may be given to the spouses or common-law partners of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members.

Operational requirements

- Must be willing and able to work overtime including shift work, nights and weekends if and when required.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Must be able to obtain an enhanced reliability security clearance.

- Possession of a valid un-restricted Provincial Class 5 Driver’s Licence;
- Must be able to lift up to 20kgs in accordance with safety practices;

- Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);

- Must be able to obtain a departmental vehicle operators permit (DND 404);
