Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff a fulltime permanent position in Fort Nelson. A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual or acting basis, at full or part time hours) in Northern British Columbia.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
1. Recent* experience providing clerical support including file management, database management and telephone/reception inquiries.

2. Experience providing client service.

3. Recent* experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications (such as MS Word and Excel) in a work environment.

* “Recent” means experience obtained within approximately the last 2 years.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.
