All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.

Assessment accommodation

*** We encourage applicants to submit their applications on-line.

Following are some of the benefits associated with applying on-line: Applicants can create a profile and retrieve stored application(s) (personal information, covering letter and résumé) previously submitted and modify them, if necessary, before submitting the application. Applicants can modify their application/resume at any time BEFORE the closing date indicated on the job advertisement.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the responsibility of the candidate to clearly outline that they meet each of the screening criteria (i.e. Education and Experience Qualifications, both Essential and Asset) by RESPONDING TO THE SCREENING QUESTIONS IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION. Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that the requirement is met or to provide a listing of current responsibilities, rather the candidate must provide concrete examples that illustrate HOW, WHERE, and WHEN they meet the requirement. Lack of EXAMPLES and DETAILS may result in your application being rejected as the Assessment Board will have insufficient information to determine whether you meet the qualifications.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.

Work environment

In line with the entire Government of Canada, ESDC is working to bring aboard new employees who possess the right skills, motivation, passion and values for public service. With this in mind, ESDC developed a 2015-2020 Workforce Strategy. The strategy’s three pillars work collaboratively to build a high performing organization. They are:
• Having the Right People in the Right Place at the Right Time;
• Developing People; and
• Fostering a Productive Workplace.

ESDC is also proud to have been selected for the Canada’s Top 100 - Diversity award (2018, 2019 and 2020), which recognizes employers from across Canada that have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs.

ESDC’s Real Property and Asset Management team works in a fast-paced environment, delivering approximately $200M of Real Property services each year across the country. Our services support important programs and services that are essential to Canadians, such as Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, Canada Pension Plan Disability, Old Age Security, and Passport services.

ESDC’s team is a dedicated professional group of real property and asset specialists, which strongly believes in service excellence while ensuring sound stewardship of public funds through a process than enhances access and fairness.

Given the importance of programs and services, ESDC manages and the real property and asset team supports, candidates for these positions will need to demonstrate they understand and can achieve a balance between service excellence and sound stewardship.

The Project Officer, Real Property and Asset Management (RPAM) plans, designs, and implements accommodation projects and provides expert advice on the administration of corporate real property for the department. The Project officer also consults and provides functional guidance to all levels of ESDC management and staff regarding all aspects of accommodation and facilities management issues.

The Technical Advisor supports the development and implementation of service transformation and delivery through the development, implementation and monitoring of business processes, practices, analyses and tools that translate program and service delivery frameworks into deliverables for a business stream.
