The intent of this process is to staff one (1) permanent position in Olds, Alberta. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term and/or permanent basis in Southern Alberta District within the RCMP. The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

EDU - Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*
*Proof of education will be required prior to appointment.
Ex1 - Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail.
Ex2 - Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Ex3 - Experience in using computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing and/or databases.
AEx1 - Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
AEx2 - Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices.
AEx3 - Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).

- Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
- Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license or personal mobility normally associated with a valid driver’s license.
Reliability Status security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain an RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
