EDUCATION
Successful completion of post-secondary education (recognized College or Technical Institute) in Building Systems Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
OR
Possession of a Certificate of Qualification as recognized by the Apprenticeship and Certification Branch of the New Brunswick Department of Training and Employment Development in one of the following trades – Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic/Millwright.
OR
A military QL6A qualification for Electrician Distribution Technician (MOSID 00302) as well as Refrigeration and Mechanical Technician (MOSID 00301).
* Note: *QL6A will be accepted at time of application; however, candidates will be required to obtain their certificate of qualification as recognized by the Apprenticeship and Certification Branch of the New Brunswick Department of Training and Employment Development prior to appointment.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience installing, maintaining and repairing building equipment and systems in a minimum of six of the following areas: building systems controls, electrical equipment, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, overhead doors, gas detection systems, compressors, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic systems, pumps, fans, commercial kitchen appliances, refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems.
EX2: Experience planning, organizing and supervising the activities and work flow of a trades shop.
EX3: Experience producing financial estimates.
EX4: Experience in human resource administration and providing personnel performance reviews.
EX5: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications Word and Excel and Outlook.
ASSET Qualifications
Education
AEDU1: Formal training in Workplace Hazardous Material Information System.
Experience
AEX1: Experience managing, ordering and stocking large amounts of material, both incoming and outgoing.
AEX2: Experience managing a budget envelope.
AEX3: Experience supervising employees in a union environment and applying collective agreements
AEX4: Experience monitoring and promoting a workplace health and safety program.

A1: Ability to estimate material and labour requirements related to the job.

Reliability Status security clearance
- Possession of a Province of New Brunswick Class 5 Drivers License or other provincial/territorial equivalence.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.
- Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as required by the employer.
- Must be willing and able to participate in a Standby rotation.
- Must be willing and able to work in extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Must be willing and able to lift objects up to 20 kgs from the floor to shoulder height.
