EDUCATION:
Graduation* with a degree from a recognized university, with acceptable specialization in environmental studies, environmental management, environmental sciences or some other specialty directly related to the position.
*Proof of eligibility to graduate in the form of a transcript or letter from the Registrar may be accepted for students who have completed their degree requirements but not yet received their diploma.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the field of environmental management and protection.
• Experience participating in, reviewing, and providing input to environmental impact assessments, environmental site assessments, environmental auditing, environmental protection or contaminated sites.
• Experience in administering environmental policy.

• Knowledge of the key federal legislative, regulations and/or policies for environmental management on reserve.
• Knowledge of the social, economic, cultural and political characteristics and issues of First Nations People.

• Ability to provide technical and analytical advice on environmental issues and concerns.

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience developing terms of reference and scopes of work.
• Experience working with Aboriginal Communities.
• Experience in contaminated sites management.
• Experience working with other federal departments, provincial, territorial or municipal governments, aboriginal groups, or industry to address complex, multi-stakeholder environmental issues.
• Experience managing federal government contracts and/or funding arrangements.
• Experience reconciling and managing a project budget.
• Experience in project management.
