Duties

As an Integrity Services Officer, you will conduct straightforward investigations to prevent, detect and deter fraud and abuse of programs managed by the Department. Your analytical ability, judgment and communication skills will be put to good use. You will be part of a strong and innovative team that has been constantly evolving since its inception. The activities to be carried out in the course of your duties will lead you to, among other things:

- Conducting fact-finding and non-complex investigations/interviews within designated authorities and referring potential prosecution files, complex cases and investigations requiring an outside visit to a PM-02 or PM-03 Investigator or Payment Services Officer;
- Applying the provisions of sections of the Act, as set out in the delegation mechanism, to render decisions on non-complex cases in accordance with clearly established procedures and guidelines; and
- Facilitate information sessions in person and virtually with claimants to inform them of their rights and obligations related to their situation.
- Conduct investigations of citizens and employers to ensure that they respect their obligations and comply with legal requirements.
- Analyze documents, conduct telephone interviews, identify cases of fraud, and make recommendations for corrective action required.
- Prevent fraud through your various awareness actions on a daily basis.

The initial intention is to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill positions within the Integrity Services Directorate. The pool could also be used to fill similar positions within Service Canada - Quebec Region. The duration of the opportunity and the linguistic profile could vary depending on the position and operational needs. This process could be conducted in conjunction with other selection processes to fill similar positions within the Quebec Region. For all common essential qualifications, the same assessment tools could be used and the results could be transferable. A separate pool of qualified candidates will be created for each process.

EDUCATION :

A high school diploma OR employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a high school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).

• Obtaining an investigation permit issued by the Private Security Office (PSO) in accordance with the success of the microprogram in the field of investigation and private security.

- Recent experience* in conducting investigations
