The intent of this process is to staff one (1) permanent position at the Wood Buffalo, Alberta detachment. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term and/or permanent basis in Eastern Alberta District within the RCMP. The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*
*Proof of education will be required prior to appointment
- Recent* and significant** experience providing administrative support services*** to internal or external clients by phone, in person or in writing.
- Recent experience* working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
*Recent experience signifies within the last two years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with approximately two years of experience, including a broad range of administrative support services.
***Administrative support services can include managing someone else’s daily schedule, planning and/or coordinating meetings, preparing and/or coordinating incoming and/or outgoing correspondence, maintaining electronic and hard copy file systems, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as CPIC, PIRS and/or PROS.
- Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages.
- Experience transcribing statements from audio files/recordings.
