Intent of the process

A pool of candidates MAY be created and MAY be used to make indeterminate or acting appointments at the EX-02 and EX-03 group and level to staff current and future positions at Fisheries and Oceans Canada. All federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this staffing process to appoint a candidate to its organization to a similar position if a pool is created.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree in Science from a recognized post-secondary institution

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in leading the formulation and delivery of operational science-based programs in a regional or national context

Experience in leading strategic planning, policy implementation and change management for large and diverse science-based programs

Experience in providing strategic science based advice to senior management in a wide range of complex contexts

Experience in consulting, negotiating, collaborating and establishing partnerships with stakeholder groups from the private and public sectors in a wide range of contexts

Experience in working horizontally within and outside of an organization to achieve operational objectives

Experience in successfully leading the full range of management functions (human, financial and information resources) for a large complex organization

EDUCATION:

Possession of an advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in a Science related to the position

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in engaging and/or partnering with Indigenous communities or organizations to advance science program outcomes

Experience in advancing open data or open science

Experience in managing teams in a geographically dispersed organization

Experience in representing Canada (chairing, co-chairing working groups, committees and/or heading delegations) in international organizations or fora
