The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. EDUCATION:
• A bachelor’s degree in museology, history, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in museums or cultural resource management.
• Experience in developing and managing relationships with a variety of internal or external stakeholders (such as government, community organizations, charities, non-profits organizations, senior managers, etc.).
• Experience supervising staff.
ASSET - EDUCATION:
• Master's degree with relevant specialization (museology, history or related field).
ASSET - EXPERIENCE:
• Experience writing and editing reports and articles.
• Experience in developing briefing notes or related material (such as briefing, reports, fact sheets) for the use of management.
• Experience providing museum programs and service delivery to a diverse client group including military, veterans, the public, and the delivery of education programming for youth.
• Experience dealing with non-public property or funds (NPP or NPF).
ASSET - KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of current museum practices, procedures and techniques for the care, management, acquisition and disposition of collections.
• Knowledge of planning and organizing exhibits, selecting artifacts, creating exhibit labels and creating promotional materials.
