**Please note that the IM/IT Program is simultaneously advertising two external CS-04 selection processes: 20-RCM-EA-N-S-NCR-SPSCIO-92158 (Manager) and 20-RCM-EA-N-S-NCR-SPSCIO-92410 (Senior Technical Advisor).

• Pursue online predators who exploit children;
• Disrupt organized crime and human trafficking.

There are a broad range of IT positions within the RCMP with varying roles. Examples include: help desk support, application development of policing tools, IT security, radio communication infrastructure, and IT architecture. The RCMP IM/IT Program is responsible for providing the IT tools, services, and solutions for the law enforcement community to fight crime across Canada and internationally. Intent of the process

The intent of this anticipatory process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to staff similar positions in the Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) Program within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Depending on the position being staffed, additional qualifications may be required by the hiring manager. Applicants will be provided with the opportunity to submit information relevant to any additional qualifications that may be applied.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR at the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• *Significant experience analyzing IT business or technical requirements, providing advice, options or recommendations to stakeholders or management.

• *Significant experience delivering or supporting IM/IT projects, products or services in one (1) or more of the following disciplines: Application Development, Database Management, Enterprise Architecture, Radio Services or Infrastructure, Operational Systems Support.

• Experience coaching and mentoring others on technical subjects

• *Significant experience managing multidisciplinary teams related to IM/IT services or projects.

• Experience in the management or planning of financial resources

*Significant is defined as the depth, breadth and complexity of experience normally acquired by having performed a broad range of various related activities for minimum of three (3) years within the last five (5) years.
