Monitoring and guiding multiple/diverse sub-activities within project objectives with limited direction.
Developing new or modified methods, practices, techniques for model development.
Contributing to the content of databases and computer models designed for physical science research activities within specific project objectives.
Transferring knowledge in the form of reports or articles, as well as providing model use training to stakeholders in industry and government.
Adapting existing methods as well as develop new models to improve the prediction of the impacts of soil and crop management practices on agricultural production and environmental impacts.

Graduation with a PhD degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in agriculture, ecology or some other science relevant to the position.

Experience simulating the environmental impacts of farming systems (including soil, crop, and livestock components).
Experience in empirical or process model application, testing and validation.
Experience exchanging scientific advice with clients including producers, industry representatives, and scientific colleagues.
Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team.
Experience in the initiation and management of multi-disciplinary collaborative research projects with various stakeholders, research collaborators and partners from various disciplines and locations.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge of Canadian beef production systems and the interaction between livestock and the environment, including waste management.
Knowledge of environmental, social and economic ecosystem regulation and services provision from crop and livestock production system.
Knowledge of Canadian databases regarding land use, farming management and climate.
Knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of agricultural models.
