The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
The position is for the Charlottetown Parole Office*, in Charlottetown, Prince Edouard Island. Please note that this is a part-time position.
* Community parole officers supervise offenders serving community sentences who are on parole, statutory release, or long-term supervision orders to ensure that they adhere to the conditions of release set by the Parole Board of Canada (PBC). As an administrative assistant in a parole office, the incumbent of the position deals, at times with the public and offenders

Education:
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
Experience providing administrative or clerical support services in an office environment.
(Defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties on a continuous basis over a period of approximately three months, within the last five years, including any work placements.)
Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Post-secondary education in a field related to the duties of the position.
Experience preparing meeting minutes.
Experience researching, extracting and compiling information from various sources.
Experience in the preparation of correspondence.
Experience in the preparation of reports.
Experience arranging work-related travel.
Experience in data entry.
Experience using a database and/or software applications for report creation.
Experience working in a correctional environment.
Experience providing clerical/administrative support services to management, such as monitoring and managing their electronic inbox and managing their calendar.
