This is an inventory of potential candidates to fill upcoming employment opportunities for Electricians, Painters, Masons, Plumbers, Steamfitters, Carpenters, WSPOL (Water, Sewage, Petrol, Oil, Lubricants) Operators, Water & Sewer Distribution Maintainers, Refrigeration and AC Mechanics, and EGS Technicians (including applicable supervisory positions) based on anticipated needs within the Department of National Defence.

The inventory will be updated every 180 days. You will receive a notice in your applicant account 14 days before the end of your active period to determine whether or not you wish to keep being considered for an additional 180 days.

You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential qualifications (i.e. Education, Occupational Certification and Experience) for the initial screening through your resume and in answering online screening questions.

OC1 – Possession of one or more of the following valid certificates of qualification issued by the province of Ontario OR inter-provincial red seal certificate of qualification OR Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 (minimum) in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) for applicable trades based on the position to be staffed:

• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (HVAC Technician)

• Electrical Generating Systems Technician

• Painter and Decorator- Industrial
• Drinking-Water Operator Certificate - Water Distribution Subsystem Class 1
• Wastewater Operator License - Wastewater Collection Facility Class 1
• Drinking-Water Operator Certificate - Water Treatment Subsystem Class 1

EXPERIENCE (Applicable to Electrical Generating System Technician positions ONLY):
Recent* experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical generating systems ranging from 2kW to 500kW including diesel engines, electrical control boards and ancillary components

Recent* is defined as experience gained within the last (5) years

ABILITIES:

AQ2: Fork Lift license
AQ3: Possession of a valid CSA Standard Z462 Arc Flash Training Certificate

EXPERIENCE:
AQ7: Experience working on Uninterruptable Power Supplies of 1KW and higher
AQ8: Experience and/or training working on airfield lighting
AQ9: Experience and/or training working on Warren Truss Inspection and/or repair
AQ10: Experience working in an industrial / Heavy Commercial Environment
AQ11: Experience working in a military environment

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

• Must possess a valid unrestricted class “G” driver’s license issued by the Province of Ontario or provincial or territorial equivalent
• Eligibility and willingness to obtain the DND 404 military driver’s license
• Current and acceptable driver’s abstract
• Must obtain and maintain a Province of Ontario trade license and/or red seal certification

• Painters, Masons (GL-PCF-07) $27.88 - $30.32
• Plumbers, Steamfitters (GL-PIP-09) $29.68 - $32.27
• Carpenters (GL-WOW-09) $28.22 - $30.68
• Carpenters (GL-WOW-10) $29.34 - $31.88
• WSPOL Operator, Water & Sewer Distribution Maintainer (GL-MAM-09) $27.85 - $30.28
• Refrigeration and AC Mechanic, EGS Technician (GL-MAM-10) $28.97 - $31.47
*Note: Refrigeration and AC Mechanic's are also entitled to an annual allowance of $8000*
• WSPOL Operator (HP 03): $29.84 - $31.24

Supervisory positions: In addition to the basic salary, there may also be an entitlement to a supervisory differential ranging from 4% to 36.5% of the basic rate.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
