Intent of the process

This inventory advertisement will used for casual employment. Casual employment is a temporary form of employment for a maximum of 90 working days per department in a calendar year. A casual worker may not apply to internal job opportunities. Shifts can include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as well as “as and when required” during the week.

Education:
-Successful completion of two years secondary School education or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Abilities and Skills:
Depending on the positon being staffed, any of the qualifications below may be deemed as an essential qualification “must have” or an asset qualification “nice to have”:
A1 - Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 kgs in accordance with general safety practices
A2 - Ability to perform basic math
A3 - Ability to communicate orally
A4 - Ability to understand instructions
A5 - Ability to climb ladders to perform various duties
at heights of up to 8 feet

Asset Qualifications:
AQ1 - Secondary school diploma.
AQ2 – Experience in providing food services in an institutional, commercial or industrial food environment
AQ3 – Experience performing cashier duties or operating a point of sale terminal
AQ4 – Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning
AQ5 – Experience in operating a floor polisher
AQ6 – Experience in operating a floor auto scrubber
AQ7 – Knowledge of various types of industrial cleaning equipment and the techniques to operate, clean and maintain them
AQ8 – Knowledge of WHMIS and safety procedures while handling chemicals and equipment

Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment:
-Must be able to obtain and maintain various security levels

Depending on the position being staffed, any of the conditions of the employment below may be deemed as required for the position:
-Must wear approved personal protective equipment as required
-Must wear approved safety footwear as required
-Must be able to lift and carry items wighing up to 20 kgs in accordance with general safety practices
-Must be able to work Shift Work including evenings, holidays & weekends.
-Must be able to work overtime.
