The Principal Publisher is the central governing body overseeing the design, structure, analytics and quality of the Canada.ca site. The Principal Publisher is responsible for the daily operation of the website including the provision of support services for approved GC initiatives, such as but not limited to: Managed Web Services, Hosted Internet Search Solution, Social Media Account Management, Web Analytics, and mobile applications.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff two positions and two anticipatory.
A pool of candidates may be created and used to staff similar positions within ESDC.

Virtual work may be a possibility for certain position(s).

*Recent experience in the development of web pages using HTML 5 as a core technology markup language.

For Program Advisor position only:

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary education program from a recognized educational institution in computer science, information technology, information management, business administration or another specialty relevant to the position(s).

Degree equivalency

Project management certification, such as PMP, Prince2, etc.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in project management.

Experience in technical testing activities of technical/publishing platforms.

Experience in using a ticket system, such as Jira, for managing web requests.

Experience in publishing web content using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

Experience in the web content lifecycle process.

Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed.
However, applicants may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.

Please note that asset qualifications, top-down and/or random selection may be used at any stage of the assessment process to identify which applications will be given further consideration.

What is a top-down selection? It is where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment. Please note that different pass marks and cut-off scores can be used at various stages of the assessment process. Candidates who attain the pass mark might not be further considered in the process if they do not achieve the cut-off score.

We ask for your collaboration to ensure an efficient process but we will also try to provide some flexibility. We will not consider requests for rescheduling beyond the reasons we will outline to candidates. Candidates who do not respond to inquiries from the assessment committee by the required deadlines or fail to attend/complete the assessment without good reason may be eliminated from further consideration.

At the time of assessment, proof of Canadian Citizenship and proof of education will be required. A security check may also be administered during assessment.
