Duties

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, resourceful, able to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships and who enjoys daily challenges. The main tasks related to the position are:

- Conducts a variety of cleaning/housekeeping/maintenance services.
- Orders, stores, maintains adequate inventories of all sanitation commodities; supervises the issuance of sanitation supplies and cleaning equipment.

The person we are looking for will be used to maintain and repair the cleaning equipment; to take care of the replenishment of supplies and services.
The position requires ability to move furniture.

Work environment

May involve working in a correctional institutional environment with offenders and staff members.

Intent of the process

This inventory is for casual employment only which is a temporary employment of 90 workings days or less in a calendar year.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or a combination of education,training and/or pertinent experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in using a standard computer.

- Recent experience of a minimum duration of four
months in one or more of the following fields: (1) handling, (2) storage, (3) receiving and
shipping, (4) supply and distribution, (5) housekeeping of buildings or cleaning
service.

Note: Recent experience means experience gained in the past five years.

CAPACITIES:

- Ability to manage staff (inmates).
- Ability to plan the different stages of cleaning.
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Ability to communicate in writing.
- Ability to react to the unexpected.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

Training certificate on the transport of dangerous goods.

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience working in a correctional environment.

- Experience in laundry operations.

- Experience in the use of a bar code system.

KNOWLEDGE :

Knowledge of the workplace hazardous materials identification system (WHMIS).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- May be called upon to travel within the framework of his work.

- Work overtime on occasion.
