The selected person will be in charge to carry out maintenance, repairs and modifications on the various plumbing networks, heating systems, pipes, plumbing equipment and accessories.
The Technical Services and installation, Quebec Region, of Correctional Service Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment where the mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters as well as parole offices and community correctional centers located throughout Quebec. The facilities we manage are diverse such as buildings and structures, building mechanics systems, electrical distribution networks, infrastructures, generators, oil tanks, thermal power stations, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and barriers, and automobile fleets to name only those.
The immediate need is to staff one (1) French Essential position at Cowansville. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and could be used to fill similar positions, with various language profile, within Correctional Service Canada.

Education
A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification
Possession of a valid Journeyperson Plumber Certification (Provincial or Interprovincial).
NOTE TO CANDIDATES: Some provinces also require possession of a valid Provincial or Interprovincial Gas Fitting Certificate in the province of employment. If you are not aware, check with the contact person named on the poster for the process.
Experience
Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewage, plumbing and various piping systems and lines in a manufacturing, industrial or institutional environment.
Experience interpreting and applying safety precautions and practices associated with plumbing work.
EDUCATION
Successful completion of any work related continuing education courses related to relevant facility maintenance or workplace safety.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Possession of a valid backflow inspector Certification
Possession of a valid water operator Certification
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of natural gas supply and distribution systems
Experience working in a correctional facility.
Various language requirements

Valid driver’s license. (May be a condition of employment in some locations).
Reliability security clearance
Requirement to lift and carry items weighing up to 23 kilograms.
