#1 Director, Northern Governance Development (National Capital Region)
Reporting to the Director General Northern Governance, the incumbent is accountable for providing briefings materials, summaries, other departmental materials as required to the Director General and Chief Federal negotiator for the negotiation of devolution.
#2 Director, Northern Governance and Partnerships (National Capital Region)
Reporting to the Director General Northern Governance, the incumbent is accountable for providing briefing materials, backgrounders and liaising within the sector and the department on issues pertaining to territorial, Indigenous and Northern issues as required.
#3 Director, Policy and Program Management (Proposed Title) (National Capital Region)
Provides authoritative scientific, strategic and policy advice on the overall management of the portfolio of projects for the Northern Contaminated Sites Program. The Director ensures that this Program is being delivered in accordance with federal and departmental objectives, policies and procedures. The Director leads the financial management of the Program, including developing requests for funding and seeking approval of new and existing authorities from Treasury Board and Cabinet.
#4 Director, Governance and Partnerships (Northwest Territories)
The position is responsible for intergovernmental relations including supporting the negotiation and implementation of treaties including self-government agreements with NWT Indigenous Governments and in the liaison with the Government of and NWT.
#5 Director, Operations and Community Services (Northwest Territories)
The position is responsible of delivery of programs and services on behalf of both Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada to NWT indigenous groups and communities.
The process intent is to staff the 5 positions indicated above.
The process may also be used to staff similar positions with Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and with Indigenous Services Canada, with various language requirements and profiles, and in various locations in Canada.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in conducting negotiations with Aboriginal organizations and/or territorial governments. (position #1, #4 & #5)
- Experience in conducting consultations with various Aboriginal peoples, other levels of government and interest groups. (position #2, #3, #4 & #5)
- Experience in the development and implementation of an environmentally based program. (all five positions)
- Experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders. (all five positions)
- Experience in providing strategic advice and briefings to senior management (Senior Director level and above) on complex* policy issues. (all five positions)
- Experience in managing human** and financial*** resources. (all five positions)
*Complex is defined as some of the following characteristics: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent setting or having major impact on the public service, or having a potential for significant media coverage.
**Some examples of managing human resources may include the following activities: supervising staff, establishing vision, priorities, establishing work plans or performance objectives, conducting performance assessments and feedback, approving training, demonstrating experience in managing various service delivery and resources allocation frameworks. Applicants must also indicate the number of staff they have supervised.
***Some examples of managing financial resources may include: full delegation for a budget, size of budget, being responsible for financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must also indicate the size of the budget they managed directly.

- Air travel to remote communities will be required.
