Update: Please note that the posting has been extended until August 25, 2020
We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
For candidates who applied through the ENG-04, 15-CSA-EA-QUE-83112 process (qualified or not), please note that the evaluation of the criteria of this process may be transferred in whole or in part to the current process. Note that these same candidates must apply to the current process in order to be considered.
Note that the results of the competency assessments could be used by other Canadian Space Agency selection processes.
When submitting your application, you will have to answer questions regarding the education and experience requirements. You must clearly demonstrate with clear and specific examples how you meet these requirements, to specify the exact period (month/year to month/year) and to provide sufficient information to allow the selection committee to assess the depth and breadth of experience in terms of qualifications sought. It is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to only provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Information provided throughout your application must be supported in your resume. Failure to provide this information in the requested format will result in your application being rejected.
We will accept applications on-line only. All job applications must therefore be submitted through the Public Service Resourcing System. Some of the benefits for applicants include that you can:
- modify your application/resume at any time BEFORE the closing date,
- complete screening questions which will highlight your qualifications to the hiring manager, and
- verify the status of your application and notification(s), at any time.

Establishes, maintains, and co-ordinates sub-systems requirements; critically assesses architectures and concepts to meet these requirements.
Critically assesses designs through the review of contractor documentation, including design specifications, plans, engineering analyses, schedules and cost estimates; identifies and manages technical risks and develops contingency plans.
Monitors the verification and validation processes and activities performed by the contractor, including environmental, functional, performance and commissioning activities; performs in-depth analyses, determines causes of technical problems and develops solutions.
Provides Systems Engineering services required for the deployment and operation of space systems, such as supporting the Launch and Early Operations Phase (LEOP), commissioning and routine operations, the resolution of system problems and the assessment of system capabilities for specific operations.
For assigned projects or for subsystems of larger systems, participates in the development of the technical aspects of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Statements of Work (SOW), and the technical proposal evaluation process, assesses the contractor's technical work and requests for scope changes, and develops recommendations as to their acceptance, to ensure that performance, technical, environmental and operations requirements are met.
Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations to support the development of technical policies, standards, guidelines and procedures that govern space systems definition, development, deployment and operations.
Establishes and maintains working relationships and co-operative efforts with engineers of partner space agencies (ex: NASA, ESA), the project team and contractors.
Provides technical advice and recommendations to Systems Managers and Staff Systems Engineers, and to colleagues and contractors on specific technical issues, during the definition, development, deployment and operations phases of space systems.
Reviews and evaluates new knowledge and developments in Systems Engineering through the review of scientific, technical and patent literature.
