This helicopter pilot position has a vital role as part of a team providing essential services to support the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) helicopter operation. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize in an operational environment ensuring that 'safety comes first'. The individual must have excellent inter-personal skills, be able to communicate effectively, and recognize the requirement to work as a member of a team to provide out-standing client service.
The main duties of the pilot position are to support CCG operations through a variety of flying activities from shore bases and CCG icebreakers.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification:
Possession of a valid Canadian Commercial Pilot License – Helicopter Category.
Possession of a Group 4 Instrument Rating.
Possession of a valid Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed Aeronautical).
Night Endorsement (Or not restricted to day only)
Experience:
Minimum of 3000 hours on turbine Helicopters.
Minimum of 2000 hours of pilot-in-command in Helicopters.
Significant* and recent* experience in Vertical Reference Slinging operations.
"Significant” will be evaluated in regard to amount and complexity of work performed.
"Recent" is defined as within the last 5 years.

Management may decide to use a score that is higher than the pass mark on any of the evaluations used throughout the selection process. A cut-off score may also be used at any stage of assessment.
A top-down screening approach may be undertaken. Only the top ranking candidates may be invited to the assessment phase of the process.
