This is a full-time indeterminate position in Moncton, N.B. The anticipated number of position(s) that may be staffed with this advertised process is one (1); however, a pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in Moncton, NB.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in civil engineering or some other specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada OR registered as an engineer in training in Canada.
The term "eligibility" for certification or membership in a professional association means that a candidate has met all academic and occupational requirements with respect to degrees, examinations, experience, etc. without having to have obtained or maintained actual registration, certification or membership.
EXPERIENCE:
*Significant experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment related to construction or maintenance of infrastructure. Candidate must have been responsible for at least 2 of the following: engineering design calculations, construction drawings, writing of technical specifications, cost estimates, project management.
*Significant is defined as the depth and the breadth of experience that would be acquired with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience following graduation in civil engineering
Experience in evaluating architectural or engineering reports, analyzing results and recommending implementation options in support of infrastructure investment or rehabilitation initiatives.
Experience managing multiple projects.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working with AutoCAD.
Formal training or certification in Project Management.
Experience in the design, construction, rehabilitation, repair, or maintenance of buildings, structures, or other civil infrastructure, or experience in a field of engineering which would contribute to the conduct of these activities.
Experience in the design, construction, rehabilitation, repair, or maintenance of marine infrastructures or experience in a field of engineering which would contribute to the conduct of these activities.
Experience in the design, construction, rehabilitation, repair, or maintenance of mechanical infrastructures or experience in a field of engineering which would contribute to the conduct of these activities.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to travel, including travel to remote locations by various modes of transportation (e.g. small and large aircraft, all-terrain vehicles, boats, helicopter, etc.).
Willingness to work overtime.
Willingness and ability to climb towers and work at heights in excess of 2.4m.
Ability to work from home.
