Work environment

The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions at the same or equivalent group and levels with various tenures and security profiles.

EDUCATION
ED1: A secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in the maintenance of roadways and ground works, including but not limited to grass cutting and snow removal
EX2: Experience working in a team environment

ABILITIES
AB1: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
AB2: Ability to organize and expedite work.

AE1: Experience in safely using firearms and pyrotechnics related to wildlife control
AE2: Experience in wildlife control
AE3: Experience safely using machinery including tractors, skid-steers, mowers and attachments relevant to grounds maintenance and snow removal
AE4: Experience in landscaping
AE5: Experience in tree cutting

ABILITIES
AB1: Ability to identify/repair common Airfield pavement and concrete distress
