Important messages

We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.

Assessment accommodation

Your application and screening questions will be used to assess the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Your responses to the screening questions will be used as the primary source of information and your resume will only be used to validate this information. Lack of examples and details, or indicating "please refer to resume", will result in your application being rejected as the Assessment Board will have insufficient information to determine if the requirement is met.

Virtual work arrangements may be available and will be determined on a case by case basis dependent on operational feasibility at the time of hiring. This does not imply tele-work; rather it means working from an Indigenous Services Canada office within a regional or national headquarters building. The employee will be expected to perform all functions of the positions remotely from an Indigenous Services Canada office but report to a manager who might be working in another location.

Duties

Under the supervision of the Regional Communicable Disease Manager, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Practice Advisor-Public Health provides technical direction in communicable disease control by assisting Community Health Nurses to address public health program needs for FNIHB, First Nation communities and organizations through:
