**Norway House Hospital serves the immediate area of Norway House, a community, 288 air miles north of Winnipeg, with a population of approximately 6,000 residents, including residents of the Norway House Cree Nation (NHCN) and the affiliated Norway House Northern Community. The location is picturesque, on a peninsula at the headwaters of the Nelson River, on the edge of the Canadian Shield. Access by air or road connections through the provincial highway system.

Candidates are advised that there is limited housing in this location.

**Percy E. Moore Hospital serves the immediate area of Hodgson, Manitoba including the residents of Peguis, Fisher River and Kinonjeoshtegon First Nations as well as the Rural Municipality of Fisher. Hodgson is located in the Manitoba Interlake approximately 2 hours north of Winnipeg and is accessible by paved road.

Candidates are advised that there is limited housing in this location.

Intent of the process

This process is for casual employment only.

A casual can be required to work up to 90 working days within a calendar year. A casual may work 90 consecutive days, a few days a week, or on call.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Current active registration with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as a general Medical Laboratory Technologist and the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM), or pending registration while awaiting the Medical Laboratory Sciences National Exam results.

Experience:
Experience working in a hospital environment.
Experience as a Lab Technologist in Chemistry and Hematology.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance.
Medical Clearance.
Obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification within six months of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
Willingness and ability to work evenings, and weekends.
Willingness and ability to work overtime.
