The position is located at 2000 Research Road, Ottawa, Ontario.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives
*Extensive experience working as a M1 licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME);
Experience in the maintenance of aircraft, systems and components;
Experience in the troubleshooting of faults in aircraft systems;
Experience in using a computer interface to troubleshoot aircraft system malfunctions;
*Extensive is defined as five (5) years or more of experience as a licensed AME.
Advanced knowledge of technical writing techniques;
Advanced knowledge of computer technology (Word, Excel, WinAir);
Graduation from a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program.

Knowledge of aircraft system maintenance and repair techniques;
Knowledge of the maintenance of fixed or rotary wing aircraft;
Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the Quality Assurance Program;

Top Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
Possession of a valid driver’s license;
Possession of a valid Transport Canada Category M1 license;
Willingness and ability to spend long hours on travel status with disruption of RTO.
