EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives*.
*The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal) as a Steam/Pipefitter
And
Possession of a Certificate of Apprenticeship in one of the following piping trades: (Plumber, Pipefitter/Steamfitter, Gasfitter or Sprinklerfitter).

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (such as Outlook, Excel and Word)
Experience at a marine shipyard working on shipboard piping systems
Experience on Canadian Frigate piping systems
Experience on Canadian Submarine piping systems
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to travel
May be required to work in extreme weather conditions

Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.
Required to work overtime and shift work.
Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Required to climb vertical ladders, and also access cramped and/or confined spaces.
Required to work in High Hazard Industrial Environment.
Required to lift and carry heavy objects, tools and equipment (up to 25 kgs) throughout worksite and up/down ladders.
Required to conduct at-sea trials in naval vessels, occasionally over a period of days.
Required to work in areas that contain noxious fumes
