Duties

PE-01
The conduct of research and analysis in support of human resources management activities under the guidance of an experienced human resources management practitioner to acquire human resources management knowledge and skills, and an awareness of the functions and interrelationships of human resources management disciplines.

PE-02
The provision of human resources (HR) management operational and program activities, advice, research and analytical studies, either at a working level with a limited decision making authority or as part of a departmental or agency HM occupational group-PE developmental program, in one or more of the HR disciplines.

PE-03
The provision of expert HR management advice and guidance and the delivery of operational services to an assigned client portfolio; the provision includes the resolution of complex, difficult and sensitive HR management issues, topics and cases in one or more of the HR management disciplines.

Intent of the process

This is an Inventory. When you apply to Inventories, you are not applying for a specific vacancy, but to an inventory for future vacancies.

This inventory is available to other federal departments in the area. For each pull of applicants, a pool of essentially or partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

Notes:

1. Candidates who are scheduled to meet this requirement within one year of application will be incorporated in the process but can only be considered for appointment once they meet the education requirement. Proof of post-secondary credits completed may be required at the time of assessment.

2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the PE group on October 1, 1999, who do not possess the education level prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

THE DEPTH AND BREADTH OF YOUR EXPERIENCE WILL BE ASSESSED USING YOUR APPLICATION, AND MAY BE FURTHER ASSESSED USING REFERENCES OR OTHER MEANS.

◦ How does an inventory work?
An inventory is a selection process that can be used by various hiring managers to meet their current and future needs. As a result, you will apply only once to be considered for multiple job opportunities.

◦ Why was my application automatically rejected when I submitted it?
In order to be placed in the inventory, you must meet the essential education qualification and the essential experience qualification at the time you submit your application. If you receive a message "Application rejected at screening" immediately after submitting your application, you answered "No" to one or more of the screening questions assessing these essential qualifications. ◦ What does "Registered in the inventory" mean?
