Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process.

A qualified pool of candidates will be established and used to staff future indeterminate and/or temporary CR-04 Information Processor positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Edmonton, Alberta and Calgary, Alberta. In the event of a temporary vacancy, the following staffing actions may be used and /or considered: acting appointment, term appointment, assignment or secondment.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

• Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*

*Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript.

Degree equivalency

• Recent* experience working with software applications such as Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).

• Experience in assuring data quality and integrity.

*Recent experience signifies within the last two years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

• Experience entering data into a computerized system.

• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database.

• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data.

• Experience transcribing statements from digital media.

• Experience in providing service to internal and/or external clients.

• Experience in multi-media conversion.

Conditions of employment

RCMP Security Clearance.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security
Clearance throughout their employment.

Positions filled will have security clearance requirements at the following levels:
RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret, or Top Secret. This requires a security/reliability interview and a field investigation in matters of criminal activities, credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.
