You must provide the following information when submitting your application:
- You must indicate which Immigrant Serving Organization (ISO) screened you for employment readiness for the Federal Internship for Newcomers Program.
To create a pool of candidates that may be used to staff casual* positions in the above-mentioned locations in various organizations within the federal, provincial, or municipal public service.
*Casual - Contracts limited to 90 working days per federal government organization, per calendar year. Other hiring organizations may have other types of contracts.

A response to a text question addressing the following:
EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives*
*The employer-approved alternative to a secondary school diploma is an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position(s) being staffed.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in providing administrative support services in at least three of the following: coordinating incoming and outgoing correspondence, managing calendars, scheduling and organizing teleconferences, videoconferences, meetings or events, note taking, data entry, making travel arrangements and/or setting up and maintaining filing systems
- Experience in using Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint or equivalent software
- Experience in developing, formatting and/or distributing various documents
Note: Experience can be demonstrated through employment (student or otherwise), academic activity or volunteer work.
ASSET EDUCATION
- A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Business Administration or Administrative Services or other applicable disciplines
ASSET EXPERIENCE
- Experience in providing administrative assistance to a manager or a director in an office setting
- Experience in providing services and guidance to clients
- Experience in planning events such as meetings, seminars or training sessions
- Experience in tracking projects or files
- Experience in providing administrative support related to projects and/or initiatives (such as coordinating tasks and monitoring progress)
- Experience in initiating requests, preparing and/or tracking documentation related to human resources
- Experience in providing budget and financial support services including, but not limited to, recording financial transactions, calculating payments, preparing cost estimates, invoice processing, budgeting, forecasting or contracting
- Experience in developing and/or maintaining a database or spreadsheets or generating reports
- Experience in coordinating the Government of Canada Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests

The Application Process:
- All job applications must be submitted through the Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS).

- An email address must be provided. The Selection Board will communicate with candidates by email to provide/request information and to invite candidates to attend any portion of the assessment. Please include a valid email address that you check frequently. Please ensure that your email settings are set appropriately. If your email settings are too restrictive, emails from the FIN team or the hiring department may be detected as spam and automatically deleted.
- When answering the pre-screening questions, you must provide specific examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualifications (education and experience, essential and asset). During the initial screening process, the Screening Board will review the applications to assess if the required qualifications have been demonstrated by candidates. Invitations to interviews will be based on the screening results.
- Receipt of applications will not be sent; only candidates successful in the screening process will be contacted.
The Assessment Process:
- It is your responsibility to ensure that, during this selection process, you communicate any changes related to your email address to the contact provided in this advertisement.
- You will be asked to submit your resume if you qualify in a FIN Program pool.
- A written exam may be administered in some cases.
- Assessments and interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice between June and August. If you do not attend assessments at the scheduled date and time, your application might be rejected. Candidates will be given at least 48 hours’ notice of interview and must be available.
- Tests may be administered during the day or evening.
- References for candidates will be sought by employers during the hiring stage.
- The Immigrant Serving Organization indicated in your application will be contacted to verify that you were screened for job readiness.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the pre-screening stage to determine the number of applicants who will advance to the following stage of the selection process.
The Hiring Process:
- Please note that even if you qualify to be placed in a pool, there is no guarantee that you will be offered a position. The number and types of positions available in a given Program year are subject to the demand of partnering organizations.
- If successful, your application may be shared within IRCC and with other hiring public sector organizations for potential employment opportunities.
- This selection process will be used by various departments, agencies and organizations.
- Please note that travel or relocation expenses will NOT be reimbursed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or any other hiring departments/organizations.

- You will be asked to provide proof of permanent residency or Citizenship.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
