The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team.

Essential Qualifications
Education:
A postsecondary degree from a program of at least two (2) years from a recognized technological institute with a specialization in field related to naval architecture.
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience in field related to naval architecture.
Experience
EX1: Experience in quality control or quality assurance conducting Ship hull verifications after assembly or repairs completion.
EX2: Significant* experience in providing services related to Ship hull manufacturing or repairs, such as but not restricted to soldering, painting, metal treatment.
EX3:Significant* experience in naval architecture system.
EX4:Experience in providing advice and recommendations to clients or management.
* Significant experience: Minimum of two years’ experience.
Asset Qualifications:
AEX1: Experience performing process or product audits.
AEX2: Experience in initiating and following up corrective actions with the business management team.
AEX3: Experience in the process used in the manufacturing or repair or overhaul of military equipment and material.
AEX4: Experience in risk analysis related to the quality assurance domain.

Secret security clearance
1. Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license without restriction, issued by Quebec province or the provincial or Canadian territorial equivalent.
2. To be able to present on demand a satisfying Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) driver file or equivalent of other Canadian province or territories.
3. Willing and able to walk cconsiderably, stand, bend and climb in the plant when meeting with staff plant personnel and conducting investigations.
4. When required, the position requires to wear protective clothing, and exposure to regular plant hazards such as but not limited to: radiation and nuclear material, volatile fumes, operating machinery, vehicular traffic, noise, fumes, heat and cold.
