The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the court. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
There are currently nine healing lodges across Canada funded and/or operated by CSC. Healing lodges are environments designed specifically for Indigenous offenders. They offer culturally appropriate services and programs to offenders in a way that incorporates Indigenous values, traditions and beliefs. The location of Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge on the Nekaneet First Nation is unique in that the Nekaneet continue to live in traditional ways. The main goal is to address factors that led to their incarceration and prepare them for reintegration into society.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their responses that they meet the essential education and experience qualifications. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in the screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide sufficient information will result in the candidate being screened out and rejected from the process.
Management has opted to use the screening questions and answers accompanied by the resume as the evaluation method for the screening process. Failure to provide this information in the requested fields may result in your application being rejected.
Volume management tools may be utilized.
Personal suitability will be assessed from the time of application.
Please note that the COMMUNICATION competency will be evaluated throughout this selection process.

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process. It is the candidates' responsibility to demonstrate clearly on their application that they meet the asset qualifications.
Successful candidate(s) must meet and maintain the Conditions of Employment throughout their employment.
