Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist with research project development and execution in both field and laboratory settings.
• Operate, maintain and trouble shoot experimental equipment.
• Observe, measure, collect, record and manage physical/biological/agronomic data using written and electronic records and report results to supervisor.
• Train and oversee the work of students.
• Purchase equipment and supplies.
• Assist with report writing.
Immediate need is to staff 1 full time temporary position.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment.

Graduation with a B.Sc. Degree or Technical Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in environmental science, plant or crop science.

Experience providing technical support for agricultural research projects in laboratory and field environments.
Experience making observations, collecting samples, performing analysis, recording data accurately, and managing databases.
Experience collecting water, gas, soil and/or plant samples, as well as other environmental data for analytical purposes using various types of experimental equipment.
Experience maintaining various types of equipment used for collection and transmission of data from the field to the office.
Experience fabricating and trouble-shooting research equipment.
Experience coordinating/planning project goals, assigning work and managing resources.
